As some of you may know I made the trip to Sturgis for the 2008 Black Hills Rally.
Yesterday as I am getting ready to head out of town I decide to stop by J & P Cycles to check out some accessories for the Sabre. Next to the J & P metric store is Memphis Shades. I decide to walk over and see what they have on display. Next to their booth is a Harley Fatboy with a Batwing Fairing on it. This really sparks my interest because I had been looking all over Sturgis for a fairing for my project build. So upon trying to find out where the owner got the fairing I notice the Memphis Shades crew putting a fairing on another Harley Fatboy. At this point I am really excited and start talking to a guy named Steve. "Tell me this is a product you guys put out". Steve tells me it is a brand new product and is only made for Roadkings and Fatboys. At this point most people would of moved on. Not me, I wasn't giving up this easy because I heard the magic word "Fatboy". I told Steve that I would like to see if it would work on my Sabre because the two a very close in measurements. I asked him if we could just take my Memphis Fats off and hold the fairing up to it to see if it would work. He told me no problem bring the bike over. I park the Sabre at their booth and Steve takes the Fats off and holds the fairing up to it. The brackets weren't right which made me bummed. Steve then tells me he can switch my mounting bracket out for the Fatboy one that is on there. So he and his crew take the bracket off of my Fats and put it on the fairing. Guess what the fairing fit right on. I was so excited that I couldn't contain myself. The guys that installed it for me said it actually went on the Sabre easier than it went on the Fatboy. I rode the Sabre 220 miles back home and it performed excellent. There was no whistling like I got with my Fats. The bike actually tracked better than with the Fats. My gas mileage actually went up about 4 miles per gallon. I now get that wind in my face feel that I love without the feeling that I have to hold on for dear life. If you are in the market for a affordable fairing I highly recommend this product. Every place I stopped on the way home people asked about it and complimented the looks of it on the bike. Once they found out it was a Honda they were really shocked. Now for the details on this product. The Fatboy fairing works on the Sabre. There is one for the VTX in the works. Price for the fairing - $230 Price for the windshield - $70 Windshield is available in the following sizes: 5" - all black 7" - gradient black 9" - gradient black Memphis Fats hardware - $135 You don't need any hardware if you have a Memphis Fats windshield. Your existing hardware works. Accessories that will be available - Chrome trim strip for the bottom of the windshield (where it mounts). Fairing side wings. Fairing pouch for the inside. If anyone has any questions please ask. I do NOT work for Memphis Shades so I will try to answer all questions the best I can. This thread will be sent to Steve so he may be able to stop in and answer questions for you. A note to end on. Steve and his crew from Memphis Shades had a open mind to this and made part of my dream come true. I couldn't have asked for better people or better customer service. If only all companies could be like them. Steve if you read this - Thank you very much for taking the time you did to help me with this project. Now for the pictures with descriptions: 1. - Initial trial fit of the fairing. This fairing has the all black 5" windshield. 2. - Initial trial fit at a different angle. 3. - Initial trial fit backside. 4. - The final product with the 7" gradient black windshield. 5. - The final product.

Viper had one on his Sabre, and it looked damn nice. For that price, I could have Nigel paint one for me and still not have alot invested.
EDIT: Viper's bat wing was from a Harley and had all of the gauges hooked up.

I will try to answer some of the questions so far.
bigjp - It is a brand new item. It is not in the catalog as of yet. They have till Sept. to get it listed in the new catalog. PDD - After seeing Vipers Sabre I knew I wanted to go with the bagger look. I am taking mine in a little different direction. Josht - If you are interested in one you can call Memphis Shades customer service and ask where to get it right now. MEM7000 MS bagger fairing for HD Softail. It is so new it doesn't even have a lemans# yet. Remember this fairing is for a Fatboy. With the MS bracket for the Sabre it is a direct bolt up. Minor adjustments will be needed to get a nice looking fit. All in all it should take under 1 hour by yourself to install. If you can put a MS Fats windshield on you can put this on. Rich - There is no place for gauges. It is the old batwing style fairing which is open at the backside. There is room behind it just no inner fairing, The fairing is different in size than the new Harley fairing. Doesn't mean something couldn't be modded. I do not know if it would fit your Nomad. If Steve stops by maybe he can answer questions about fitting future bikes. I know MS will be coming out with one for the Honda VTXs which will be a little more radical than this one. I did not see it so that is all I know. I could take some measurements for you of key points. If it doesn't work on the Nomad your son could use it on the Sabre I guess. Just a word of note to pass on information. I had the quick release MS bracket which is now on the fairing. I can remove the fairing and get 3 different looks for the bike in about 10 seconds. Fairing look, Memphis Fats windshield look and nothing look. If there are anymore questions I will be glad to help out as I can.

Cool! Thanks for the write up, alot of Sabre owners have been looking for an easy batwing installation in the past, it looks like you might have found it!

Agreed. I don't like a windshield, so this is the perfect answer for cold weather riding. All I have to do is get it to Nigel and his artsy fartsy bro-in-law for some (I hope) matching paint.
